Introducing Moms In Music: Empowering Women in Music Who are Mothers or on the Journey to Motherhood.

Atlanta, GA - Today, Moms In Music announced their official launch as an organization founded to empower, support, and advocate for women in music who are mothers, in mothering roles, or on the journey to motherhood.

The community is a safe space for female music creators and music

professionals who have come together to connect and empower one another to fulfill their true potential in an industry where motherhood has traditionally been viewed as taboo and where women are often marginalized.

Moms In Music hosted the inaugural brunch at the Buckhead Club on Friday, May 19th, 2023, in collaboration with The Mezzo Agency and The Law Firm of Lawson Mckinley, and was sponsored by esteemed industry leaders: Women in the Mix® & The Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy, SongWriters of North America (SONA) and ARC Business Management. The event brought together

an impressive array of women from all walks of life to celebrate the maternal contributions and sacrifices made by three notable names in the music industry: Faith Evans, Jamaica Craft, and Dionne Farris.

During the brunch, attendees were treated to inspiring speeches from each of the honorees, all of whom spoke about their experiences as mothers in the music industry and the importance of Moms In Music. Faith Evans, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, shared, “Mother’s in music face a complex challenge of

balancing it all... and there is really no way around it. Our careers as well as our children are a blessing but neither a summation of who we are.”

Jamaica Craft, prolific choreographer and creative director added, "Motherhood can be challenging, but

being a mom in the music industry can be even more so. Moms In Music is a support system we all need

to thrive." Dionne Farris, acclaimed singer and songwriter, closed with, "I'm grateful for Moms In Music and the

opportunities it provides for women to come together and build a community that understands the unique challenges we face."
